Description

1. Project Description: Design-Build services for a Design-Build project to design and construction of a new library of approximately 20,000 sq. ft. The library building will consist of entry/community services, computer lab, reader service area, informal reading/special feature area, reference area, multipurpose room, adult/young adult area, childrens area, and staff support areas. The facility will also require a parking lot as well as building entrance and path of travel from closed by school and park areas. Work and Services required of the Design-Builder will include design, construction, and startup of the Project. The Design-Builder shall provide all management, supervision, labor, services, temporary facility, equipment, tools, supplies, and any other item needed to complete the design, construction, and start-up of the Project 2. Scope of Work: The project includes: Design Drawings, Project Specifications, Permits, Presentations to Community Planning Board Americans with Disabilities Act, [ADA]/Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations [Title 24], Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design LEED, Public Art, Underground Utilities, Hazardous Waste monitoring, Archeological Monitoring, Paleontological Monitoring, Best Management Practices [BMPs], Storm Water Standard Manual, Stormwater, Pollution Prevention Plan [SWPPP], Surveying, Record Research, Community Outreach, Environmental Investigation, Site Landscaping, Traffic Signaling, Driveway entrance to the facility and work in the Public Right of Way, Implementation of QA/QC and Safety Programs, etc. The project also entails coordinating the design, construction and startup with Library Department, Facilities Maintenance, and Communications Division for the Voice/Cable/Data. The Design Builder will also be responsible for the procurement of all fixtures, furnishings and equipment in all buildings. The project also requires a lot of line adjustment to be prepared and obtained by the Design Builder. Additional Information: This project does not have bridging documents. Design Builder to use City Facilities latest standards for libraries as a guide. 3. License Requirement: To be eligible for award of this contract, Prime contractor must possess the following licensing classification: B 4. Location: This project site is located at the North East corner of College Grove Drive and 55th Street.
