Description | Texas Historical Commission (THC) seeks sealed proposals from qualified firms for the procurement of the manufacture and installation by a reproduction carpet company of 5 reproduction narrow custom Wilton Wool style wall-to-wall carpets with border to replace existing carpet. The wall-to-wall carpet will be installed over the existing pad. This carpet is for the exhibit at Fulton Mansion State Historic Site. These new reproduction floor coverings are necessary because in 2017 the wall-to-wall carpets reproduced for Fulton Mansion in 1983 were ruined by terrible flooding that occurred during Hurricane Harvey. Wilton Wool carpets are produced in 27” or 36” widths with matching borders, to be fitted on-site for installation in each room. These new reproduction floor coverings are necessary because in 2017 the wall-to-wall carpets reproduced for Fulton Mansion in 1983 were ruined by terrible flooding that occurred during Hurricane Harvey. Fulton Mansion State Historic Site is located in Fulton on the Texas Gulf Coast, in the county of Aransas, in the U.S. state of Texas. It is one of the earliest Second Empire style buildings constructed in Texas and is one of the most important of the style in the Southwest United States. It is interpreted by the Texas Historical Commission as a historic house museum. This expenditure is tied to Fulton Mansion's HIM Hurricane Harvey Grant, which is granting THC funds for the restoration of the mansion post-Harvey disaster. These new reproduction floor coverings are necessary because in 2017 the wall-to-wall carpets reproduced for Fulton Mansion in 1983 were ruined by terrible flooding that occurred during Hurricane Harvey. |
