Description | The Poughkeepsie Housing Authority (PHA) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to interested vendors to submit proposals for Removal and Replacement of approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of gymnasium flooring located in the New Hope Community Center located at 221 Smith Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Any questions regarding Section 3 requirements, please contact Thomas Shanley at (845) 485-8862 ext. 103. 1. Remove and dispose of existing floor, floating subfloor, and cove base. 2. Cover existing slab with 6 mil. Polyethylene vapor barrier overlapping at least 4". 3. Install foam membrane. 4. Install 1 layer of 15/32" plywood 90 degrees to the direction ofthe finished flooring. 5. Install 2nd layer of 15/32" plywood 45 degrees to the direction ofthe finished flooring. 6. Cover plywood subfloor with a layer ofred rosin builders paper. 7. Install new 2nd grade 2 V" x %" maple flooring. 8. Sand floors three times to prepare for finishing, (course, medium, fine grits) 9. Clean surface by vacuuming and then tack with towels. 10. Apply two coats ofsports floor grade polyurethane to seal the surface. 11. Paint basketball game lines and 2 color center logo. 12. Apply an addition two coats ofsports grade polyurethane to finish the surface. 13. Install black Johnsonite vented cove base around the perimeter ofthe gym. 14. Install aluminum thresholds at interior doorways as needed. 15. Contractor is responsible for the storage ofmaterials and equipment. 16. Clean up: a. Work area should be cleaned up at the end of every work day. 17. Waste management: a. Conform to all federal, state, and local construction waste management laws and regulations. 18. All work must be guaranteed for one year |
