Description This project can be generally described as the Concrete Rehabilitation of the center 50-foot wide keel section on both ends of Runway 18L-36R. The Runway is 12,504 feet long and 200 feet wide. The Runway 36R end consists of 5,000 feet by 200 feet wide of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement and Runway 18L consists of 500 feet by 200 feet wide of PCC pavement. This project will consist of the complete removal and reconstruction of each slab in the center 50-foot width of these sections. The ‘keel’ replacement provides the rehabilitation of the central and most critical portion of the Runway used by the design aircrafts’ main gears. This allows the Runway to properly serve the airport for at least another 20 years.
