Description | As of August 16, 2023, this project is in the pre-design phase. An engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City is seeking a qualified professional engineering consultant to assist the City in the evaluation and expansion of the existing filters and disinfection system, and the evaluation of disinfection and filtration processes and associated pre-design services at TMWRF (8500 Clean Water Way, Reno, NV 89502 -APN: 021-020-02). The expanded filtration and disinfection processes would serve as functional facilities designed to current seismic and structural codes, and be sized large enough for current and future sewer flows The City assumes that consideration for the construction of an expanded filtration process, improvements to the existing filters, and improvements and expansion of the disinfection system will require site selection, building layout and logistics, civil and structural pre-design, hydraulic and wastewater process modeling, and a seismic evaluation for the existing facilities. The City assumes UV disinfection and cloth media filters are desirable for expansion of capacity and improvements to the existing systems; however, the consultant will be responsible for recommending the technology and most desirable options to maintain compliance with TMWRF's discharge permit and future effluent water quality standards. The evaluation of the existing structures involves a design analysis and cost estimates to bring the building(s) to the current seismic code(s) (if necessary), an evaluation of the process performance and condition assessment of the existing system, and evaluation of existing hydraulic, process, operational, and maintenance constraints. A cost estimate will be prepared as an opinion of probable construction cost consistent with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) guidelines for a class V cost estimate for the improvements and expansion project. Based on the results of the evaluation and pre-design, the City may select the consultant for additional design services of the option selected by the City. The last day to submit questions has been extended from 4/20/2022 to 4/27/2022 The consultant is to be comprised of professional engineer(s) registered in Nevada, who possess comprehensive experience in municipal wastewater filtration processes, disinfection technology and process knowledge, municipal wastewater facility design, municipal wastewater process modeling, hydraulic modeling, and municipal wastewater treatment engineering. It is preferred the consultant have experience with Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) as a construction project delivery method. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. |
