Description | The work for the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) includes but is not limited to the following (Reference the Drawings and Specifications for specifics for the overall scope of work). 1. The project includes removal of approximately 24,706 Square Foot Shingle Roof and underlayment and 620 Square Foot TPO Roof including insulation, metal coping, flashings, downspouts and gutters to the structural deck. 2. Provide new insulation, perimeter wood blocking and new 2 3/8” standing seam metal roof and Kee roof system with a Labor and Material 30-year NDL Warranty including all gutters, downspouts, flashings and edge metal work. 3. Completely remove existing wood framed dormers including but not limited to stud walls, sheathing, roofing, siding, windows, etc., down to structural deck. Infill the opening with 2x8 studs at 16” on center and ¾” cdx plywood sheathing as detailed. 4. Completely remove existing TPO roofing systems including but not limited to all previous roof layers, insulation, flashings, fascias, counterflashing, termination bars, gutters, downspouts, wood blocking, etc. down to the structural deck unless noted otherwise. 5. Provide new piping connected to the downspout near the Mechanical Room and a new Leeching Bed as shown on Detail A Drawing A-1. Restore the lawn area. 6. Provide new standing seam metal roof assembly and Kee roof assembly with a Labor and Material 30-year NDL edge to edge warranty. 7. New Metal roof system shall be provided as indicated on the drawings and as specified. Install new uniform thickness of polyisocyanurate insulation consisting of 2” cover with SBS modified self-adhering membrane with non-woven fiberglass mat and non-abrasive polyester finish. Install metal roof with concealed clips on bearing plates. 8. New Kee roof system shall be provided as indicated on the drawings and as specified. Provide (2) layers of 2.6” rigid insulation on existing plywood deck. Top insulation with a 1/2" recovery board, base sheet, and Kee membrane as specified. 9. New metal gutters, downspouts and flashings will also be installed to complete the roofing system. 10. All metal work and roofing work is to be covered by a comprehensive Labor and Material 30-year NDL Warranty. B. The work for the Education and Humanities Center (EHC) includes but is not limited to the following (Reference the Drawings and Specifications for specifics for the overall scope of work). 1. The project includes removal of approximately 61,703 Square Feet of existing 4-Ply approximately 1995 Built-up Asphalt Roofing Materials, Insulation and Stone Aggregate Surface. 2. Provide mechanically fastened 2-staggered layers of roof insulation plus ¼ inch tapered insulation as the existing structural deck is flat. Achieve a minimum of ¼ inch per foot roof slope. Provide fully adhered ½ inch ISOGUARD or approved equal coverboard and a fully adhered 090 EPDM Roof System with factory adhered seams and additional field seam tape to provide a comprehensive Labor and Material 30-year NDL Warranty. 3. All brick veneer rising walls shall be covered with the manufacturers required moisture barrier membranes, metal purlins and siding. All metal including the siding, coping, roof edge metal and the like shall be part of the complete envelope waterproof labor and material 30-year Warranty. 4. Provide crickets/gussets as indicated on the new roof plan. In addition, provide crickets to divert water around all roof penetrations/obstructions whether shown on the plans or not. 5. All existing chilled water piping on the roof and the existing seven (7) rooftop units will be removed by a separate Owner’s Contractor (Tozour Trane) during the same construction period. This Contractor shall coordinate with Tozour Trane to schedule this work. The existing seven (7) rooftop units will be replaced, and an eighth unit will be added. This Contractor is responsible for removing the piping supports as the new system will not have chilled water piping. 6. Remove the existing above roof steel framing as shown on the drawings. 7. All existing above roof steel shall be prepared (scraped and cleaned) then prime painted with an addition two (2) finish coats per the manufacturer’s recommendations. Refer to Specification Section 09900 – Painting. |
