Description

The purpose of this RFP is to enter into a contract to supply and perform the installation of striping and pavement marking that is congruent with the expectation of the community standards as a whole throughout the Alpine School District. It is anticipated that this RFP will result in a single contract award to the responsive and responsible offeror with the highest score justified by the procurement code. The contract resulting from this RFP will be for FIVE (5) years. ASD has hundreds of acres of pavement which our Physical Facilities department maintains and requires a vendor to supply all equipment and perform all labor to install pavement marking and striping/stenciling requested within the boundaries of the Alpine School District. Due to the fact that there is such variation in striping/stenciling materials and methods of application, Alpine School District hasimplemented specificationsto ensure a consistent look and quality of pavementmarking (See Specifications). Upon request of the Physical Facilities departmentthe vendor will provide all equipment and perform all labor to install pavement marking and striping/stenciling requested within the boundaries of the Alpine School District. The contractor will be expected to be available during normal business hours to Alpine School District Physical Facilities personnel for distribution of work. Further, the contractor will be expected to schedule appointments and meet with school administrators within five days of notification to establish the striping needs of the particular school. Once those needs have been defined, an itemized list with pricing will be presented to the Alpine School District Physical Facilities Department for final approval. Upon approval, the contractor will be expected to complete the job within 14 days ofsaid date. Exception to this standard given in cases of inclement weather, time constraints due to volume of work given, and scheduling difficulties. Additionally, with the exception of special circumstances, striping will have to be completed when school is not in session. This means that the contractor must be available for work after school hours and in most cases, over weekends and holidays. o Pricing should include travel. No separate travel charges will be accepted. o Vendersmust be licensed and certified to perform this work. Alpine School Districtreservesthe right to cancel any contract if any of the following should arise: o Contractorfailsto perform work in a timelymanner. o Contractorfails to perform work as perspecifications outlined in this document. o Contractor or Contractor's employees failto comply with the Public Schools drug and tobacco free zone laws.
