As of January 18, 2023, an award has been announced for this solicitation. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. .................... The Bechtel Engineering Center Addition and Renovation (Bechtel) project will be located at the northeast side of campus, south of Davis Hall and north of Evans Hall. The size of the addition will be approximately 35,570 gross square feet, and the area to be renovated will be approximately 15,000 gross square feet. The new building will include offices, meeting spaces, lounges, assembly spaces, classrooms, event space, a cafe, and roof terraces. The CX is not responsible for design concept, design criteria, compliance with codes, design or construction scheduling, cost estimating, or construction management. The CX is expected to assist with the problem-solving and resolving non-conformance of deficiencies, but ultimately the responsibilities for design and construction reside with the A/E and Contractor respectively. The primary role of the CX is to develop and coordinate the execution of a testing plan and observe and document performance, that is, determine whether systems are functioning in accordance with the Contract Documents. The Contractor will provide all tools or the use of tools to start checkout, and functionally test equipment and systems, except for specified testing with portable dataloggers and airflow/pressure test equipment. The proposal shall include all design and construction phase commissioning services outlined in this RFQ. The successful firm will create specifications, review and comment on the product design document submittal and provide services through the Construction Documents, Construction, and Warranty phases, and enhanced commissioning services meeting LEED requirements. Questions about this RFQ or the project should be submitted using Building Connected by using the Message Tab no later than 5:00p.m. PST on May 4, 2022. Interested parties are expressly prohibited from contacting any other party associated with this project, including but not limited to UC Berkeley employees, representatives, consultants, and donors, during this RFQ process, including interviews and contracting. Such contact will serve as reason for firm disqualification. The Bechtel project is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification through submission to the US Green Building Council. Documents issued for review in relation to this proposal: o Project Design Schedule o Bechtel Detailed Project Program (DPP) The following building systems, including all equipment, components and controls are to be commissioned: o Plumbing o HVAC System o Building Management System o Fire Protection Systems o Electrical Systems o Lighting and Lighting Control Systems o Facade Commissioning The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
