Description

This project will involve hauling whole trees (30 to 50 feet in height), some of which will have root wads attached, from National Forest System Roads 42 & 49 near Slater Creek to First Creek along Routt County Road 80 in California Park. Trees are spruce or fir with a maximum diameter of 12 inches. An excavator with thumb attachment, operated by a Forest Service crew will load the trees into the hauling vehicle(s); however, there will be no equipment to help unload. Therefore, a sidedump trailer or standard dump without a tailgate is recommended. Hauling will need to occur during on or about August 10th – 14th, 2020). Timing is critical as contracts and implementation plans are based on these dates. Trees will be delivered to unloading area B first.
