519 State Street Renovations - Schenectady County

As of May 10, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. This project is included Schenectady County fiscal year 2023 - 2028 capital improvement plan. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. Exterior and full interior gut and rehabilitation for 519 State Street. A structural analysis was completed to identify the full extent of repairs needed. We will need to relocate the current Public Defender staff to a leased space while construction takes place. An elevator would need to be added to make the building ADA accessible and brought up to current code. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
