Description

Deadline for written questions March 14, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Deadline for completion of the project September 1, 2023 The City of Pella is seeking responses to a Request for Quote (RFQ) from qualified contractors to repair selected sidewalk panels in the City of Pella. 1.2 Goal/Purpose. The City of Pella is issuing this RFQ for the purpose of selecting a qualified contractor to repair 438 selected sidewalk panels prior to September 1, 2023. 1.3 Background. In 2018, the City of Pella began a new sidewalk repair program that would inspect every sidewalk panel in the City over a four-year period, with a quadrant being inspected each year. The 2022 quadrant included all properties within the City limits located south of Washington Street and west of Main Street. This spring the properties' sidewalks were inspected, and homeowners were given time to repair these panels. The sidewalk panels that were not remedied are to be replaced. This process also includes five panels outside of the above area that were found to be ruined and requiring abatement. To ensure that parties engage in a contract with the City, a bond consisting of ten percent (10%) of the total contract amount will be submitted by the contractor with the response to this RFQ. The bond will be returned should the City enter into a contract with the successful party within thirty (30) days of Council approving the amount and the security deposit to the value of one hundred percent (100%) of the total cost of the project to ensure the performance and timely completion of the work and to secure payment of subcontractors and suppliers. A payment and performance bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total cost will be submitted by the successful party prior to signing the contract. Scope of Work. The properties covered in this project require all the sidewalks to be built to the Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS) as well as requiring #4 rebar running the full length of each panel.
