Replacement of Bridge No. B-140 at Milepost. This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary for the replacement of a single span reinforced concrete T-Beam bridge with a single span prestressed concrete plank beam bridge along with the approach roadway. Work also includes improvements to S.R, 1001 under the structure and maintenance and protection of traffic and erosion and sedimentation control during construction. Work items include, but are not limited to: 16,260 CY Excavation, Various Classes 9,548 SY Subbase (No. 2A) 8,729 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixtures, Various Courses, Various Depths 27,823 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, Various Depths 287 LF Drainage Pipes, Various Sizes 13 EA Inlets, Various Types 1,216 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 4,075 LF Concrete Median Barrier 8,566 LF Temporary Concrete Median Barrier 36 CY Class AA Cement Concrete 728 CY Class A Cement Concrete 98 CY Class AAAP Cement Concrete 62,332 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 828 LF Prestressed Concrete Plank Beams Milepost 148.06 is located approximately 2.56 miles east of the Bedford Interchange, Exit 146, in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
