Replacement of 8-Inch Pipeline Under Pilarcitos Creek (Strawflower) Project

This Public Works Contract consists of construction of Replacement of 8-Inch Pipeline Under Pilarcitos Creek at Pilarcitos Avenue (Strawflower) Project located in the City of Half Moon Bay, California, 94019 on Pilarcitos Avenue, and Oak Avenue. 1. Replacement of the existing 8-inch water line that crosses Pilarcitos Creek between the Strawflower shopping center and Oak Ave with a 10-inch diameter high density polyethylene (“HDPE”) water pipeline, approximately 470 linear feet installed by horizontal direction drilling (“HDD”) under Pilarcitos Creek; approximately 181 linear feet of 8-inch diameter ductile iron (“DI”) water pipeline installed by open trench construction through Oak Avenue Park and along Oak Avenue. Work includes tying into the existing 8-inch DI water pipeline on Pilarcitos Ave and installation of all new valves and fittings, as shown on the plans. 2. Abandonment of existing facilities. The existing crossing will be cut and capped at each end and abandoned in place. 3. Installation of barriers or fencing as needed to keep the public out of Oak Avenue Park work area and maintain safe access to the pedestrian walkways and bridge at all times other than during the HDD pipe pullback. 4. Site restoration including resodding disturbed areas of Oak Avenue Park.
