Description | governing board ("Board") of the Alum Rock Union School District ("District") will receive emailed bids for the following project, Summer Projects - New Sign Installation Bid No. B2223 Bid Package Bonds11 and New Locker Installation Bid No. B2223 Bid Package Bonds12 ("Project" or "Contract"). The Project consists of all labor, materials equipment and services necessary to complete the work at the project site. Any bid that is submitted after this time shall be nonresponsive and returned to the bidder. Each bidder is solely responsible for timely submission of its bid; the district is not responsible for any technological issues in a bidder's ability to timely submit its bid or portion thereof. Any claim by a bidder of error in its bid must be made in compliance with section 5100 et seq. of the Public Contract Code. Prior to publicly reading aloud bids at the video conference, the district reserves the right to verify the genuineness of any bid security. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations and to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: A, B, and/or other licenses required to complete the scope of this package. The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Work. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the district to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The successful Bidder shall comply with all requirements of Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, of the Labor Code and Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations. For all work performed pursuant to this Contract, the Contractor and all subcontractors shall pay all workers not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, ("DIR") for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are also available from the District or the DIR website. This Project is subject to labor compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. The Bidder and all Subcontractors under the Bidder shall comply with applicable federal, State, and local requirements relating to COVID-19 or other public health emergency/ epidemic/pandemic including, if required, preparing, posting, and implementing a Social Distancing Protocol. Bidder shall further comply with the California Department of Public Health's August 11, 2021, Order, or Board Policy, whichever is most stringent, requiring workers on District sites to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or else subject to weekly testing for COVID19. The Board reserves the right to reject all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on July 7, 2022, at the time location highlighted below. There are 5 schools with concurrent Asphalt bidding requirements and schedules. All 5 sites will be included consecutively per the list of schools below. participants are required to sign in at each school they plan to bid. Meet outside the front entrance gates at each school. The site visits are expected to take approximately 30 minutes per school. Failure to attend or tardiness at any of the schools will render bid ineligible for that specific school.
