Description

Furnish all services for the removal of snow and ice from public streets and designated parking lots for the snow season from September 1, 2023 to May 15, 2024 as defined in the Agreement. This Agreement will be reviewed annually and shall have an option for an additional two years with a not to exceed payment escalation of a 3% per year. Methods: Contractor shall plow and remove snow from and apply salt/sand mix to the public way in the Town of Castine, Hancock County, Maine in accordance with State snow removal laws. Payment: Payment will be made in accordance with Section 6 of the Agreement. Insurance: The Contractor shall obtain and maintain, throughout the term of the Agreement, at no additional expense to the Town, the following insurance coverages: a. Public Liability Insurance coverage and Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance in an amount of at least $1,000,000.00 single limit for personal or bodily injury, death and property damage protecting the Contractor and the Town from all claims which might arise out of the performance of Snow Plowing services. b. Workers' Compensation Insurance in amounts required by Maine law. c. All such insurance policies shall name the Town and its officers, agents and employees as additional insured, except that for purposes of workers' compensation insurance, the Contractor instead may provide a written waiver of subrogation rights against the Town. Within 5 days of award and prior to commencement of this project, the Contractor shall deliver to the Town certificates satisfactory to the Town evidencing such insurance coverages. The Town of Castine reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any or all formalities and to award the project to a firm other than the low bidder, if it deems any of these actions to be in the best interest of the Town.
