Project Identiication: New Berlin - JR / SR High School Remodel & Addition - Early Bid Package Project Location: New Berlin - Junior/Senior High School New Berlin CUSD #16 300 W Ellis St. New Berlin, IL 62670 Project Description: This project is for the Junior/Senior High School located in New Berlin, IL. This is an early bid package to facilitate the timely procurement and installation of materials surrounding precast and electrical components in order to meet the Project Schedule. The overall Project consists of additions, remodel, and building demolition. Additions: Gym, locker room and storm shelter, convertible band and chorus rooms, commons and kitchen, and a two-story classroom wing. Remodel: Portions of the adjacent 1970s building. Building demolition: to take place after the additions and remodel is complete. The Project Schedule is to coordinate work with the school's calendar year so the existing building can remain up and operational during the school year. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: Multiple Contract Project consisting of the following prime contracts: Bid Package 01 - Electrical Distribution Equipment Bid Package 02 - Precast Wall Panels and Hollow Core Planks Refer to section 01 12 00 BID PACKAGES for additional information BID SECURITY Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5% of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. Substitution requests sent without approved form shall not be considered. Substitution requests shall comply with requirements of section 01 25 00 - Substitution Procedures Online access to bid documents via portal will be provided to any bidders or suppliers who request access TIME OF COMPLETION Successful bidder shall begin the Work upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work per the requirements in Speciication Section 00 31 13 - Project Schedule. STIPULATIONS Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or portion(s) of bid, to waive any irregularities in the Bidding, and award contract in the Owner's best interest. Selected bidder is required to provide a satisfactory performance bond and labor & material payment bond covering the full performance of the contract, irrevocable letter of credit or other security. The costs of the bonds are to be included in each Bidding Multiple Prime Contractor's bid proposal. The successful bidder shall be required to comply with all provisions of the acts of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois related to Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Alcohol Use, Preference to Illinois Workmen, Fair Employment Practices Commission, and Equal Employment Opportunity. The successful bidder shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1- 12). All Bidding Multiple Prime Contractor bonds shall include a provision as will guarantee the faithful performance of such prevailing wage clause as provided by this bid speciication or contract. Bidding Multiple Prime Contractors shall comply with all applicable laws of the State of Illinois and the United States of America.
