Description | Phase 1 includes the restoration of Wolf Creek extending approximately 1,425 lf upstream from its confluence with Mill Creek and dredging the former lower pond to create a 2.25 acre or larger recreational pond. Site amenities including trails, boardwalks, fishing platforms, kayak launch, bridges, program center, and gathering areas will be incorporated where appropriate to complement the restoration as funding becomes available. Restoration in the upper reach will improve water quality and reduce sediment and nutrient loads downstream and within the project area. Natural Channel Design and bioengineering will guide restoration in the upper reach of Wolf Creek (approximately 750lf) to provide streambank stabilization and floodplain connectivity. Wetland restoration and invasive plant management will be incorporated throughout the project. Restoration includes improving the tie-in to Mill Creek and the installation of a berm that separates Wolf Creek and the planned 2.25 acre off-line recreational pond. |
