Description | Job No. 22009 rev.0 DESCRIPTION OF WORK Owner: CITY OF HERRIN Location: HERRIN, IL Proposed Improvements: 15", 12", 8", and 4" sewer lining and miscellaneous repairs at various locations within city limits. Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS130/1-12). This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 etseq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the current "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus amount for fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. The Department publishes the prevailing wage rates on its website at http://labor.illinois.gov/. The Department revises the prevailing wage rates and the contractor/subcontractor has an obligation to check the Department's web site for revisions to prevailing wage rates. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage requirements and notice and record keeping duties. The following Bid forms shall be returned by the Bidder to the Owner: o Contract Document (Cover Sheet) o Tabie of Contents o Advertisement of Bid o Instructions to Bidders o Bid Form / Schedule of Prices o Bid Bond (or) Cashier's Check (5%) Submission of a Bid shall be conclusive assurance and warranty the Bidder has examined the Plans/ Bid Documents and understands all requirements for the performance of Work. The Bidder will be responsible for all errors in the Bid Documents resulting from failure or neglect to conduct an in-depth examination. The Owner will, in no case be responsible for any cost, expenses, losses or changes in anticipated profits resulting from such failure or neglect of the Bidder. The Bidder shall take no advantage of any error or omission in the Bid Documents. The Bid shall be placed in a sealed envelope and shall be marked to clearly indicate its contents. When sent by mail, the sealed Bid Documents shall be addressed to the Owner at the address and in care of the official in whose office the Bids are to be received. All Bid Documents shall be filed prior to the time and at the place specified in the Advertisement of Bid. Bid Documents received after the time specified will be returned to the Bidder unopened. Permission will be given to a Bidder to withdraw a Bid if the Bidder makes the request in writing or in person before the time for opening proposals. 31| |
