Description

This project takes place at the Shaker Square station. The work involves the removal and replacement of the existing roofing. Bid Guarantee - equivalent to ten percent (10%) of the bid price if provided by cashier's check or money order; or one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount if provided by bid bond. The provisions of 49 CFR Part 26, and 41 CFR Part 60-1, as applicable to Federal grants regarding equal employment practices and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation are applied to these procurements. The project is at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority's (GCRTA) Shaker Square Station at 13051 Shaker Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44120. The Scope of Work is as described below. This project shall include all labor, material, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the job in a workmanlike manner consistent with recognized good practice and latest building codes requirements. The Scope of Work shall include but is not limited to: 1. Two buildings are at this address, Michael's Diner and the Shaker Square Shelter (just south of the Eastbound track). The roof was recently replaced on Michael's Diner. This project is focused only on the Shelter and only the flat section of its roof. 2. The roof edge is within a few feet of track centerline and the overhead catenary wire that powers the trains at 600 volts. No work can be done within 10 feet while the line is energized. The GCRTA has scheduled a shutdown for the Spring or Summer of 2023 for a duration of approximately 42 days. This line will be de-energized and the roof replacement must be done concurrent with the rail project. 3. Removal of existing roofing down to the existing lightweight concrete deck and replace with new modified bituminous roofing system with reflective (light grey) coating. 4. Provide new flashing around all roof penetrations, curbs, roof edge, and screen wall posts. 5. This work must be completed within 42 days. Present the plan per Section 013200 "Schedules and Reports".
