Description

(1): Job JSLM0021 Route 64 ST LOUIS County. Sound wall repairs from east of Clayton Road to west of McCutcheon near Richmond Heights, the total length of improvement being 0.009 miles. Range: 100K to 250K Each Bid Shall Be Accompanied by a Certified Check or Cashier's Check, Drawn on Any Bank or Trust Company and Payable to "Director of Revenue, Credit State Road Fund", or Bidders May Submit a Bid Bond for Each Project Bid or an Annual Bid Bond That Would Cover All Projects Bid for a Twelve Month Beginning July 1 and Ending June 30 of Each Missouri State Fiscal Year. Annual Bid Bond Forms Must Be Submitted by June 15 of Each Year. Bid bonds must be Submitted on a form furnished by the commission, executed by the bidder and corporate surety, and naming the "State of missouri, acting by and Through the missouri highways and transportation commission", as obligee) for an amount (or penal sum) equal to 5% or more of the bid, Which check or bond shall be deposited with the commission as a guaranty and forfeited in the event the bidder is found to be the successful bidder and fails to comply with the terms of the request for bid. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Hereby Notifies All Bidders That It Will Affirmatively Insure That in Any Contract Entered Into Pursuant to This Advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Will Be Afforded Full Opportunity to Submit Bids in Response to This Invitation and Will Not Be Discriminated Against on the Grounds of Race, Color, Religion, Creed, Sex, Age, Ancestry, or National Origin in Consideration for an Award. The Right Is Reserved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to Reject Any or All Bids. Any Contractor Who Desires to Bid on the Project(S) Involved in the Bid Opening Must Have a Contractor Questionnaire on File in the Office of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission at Least Seven Full Days (168 Hours) Prior to the Time of Bid Opening. A New Contractor Questionnaire Must Be Filed Annually Except That the Commission May Request a New Questionnaire at Any Time. MODOT - F06 - Sound Wall Repairs *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Description. This work consists of replacing any damaged portion of existing sound wall except for the foundation. 1.1 Detailed fabrication drawings based upon the as built plans shall be submitted for approval prior to construction. 1.2 The drawings shall include all information necessary for prefabricating wall sections and posts. Drawings shall show shape, dimensions and layout of wall components and details of reinforcing steel, as well as the quantity, type, size, and details of connection and lifting hardware, and any additional details necessary for a complete review. The contractor shall design the top of the barrier to be horizontal. The drawings shall also include all information needed to erect the wall, including the details and construction procedure for connecting posts to the foundation shafts, details necessary to account for change of grade, and any additional details necessary to complete the work. 1.3 All drawings shall be clear and complete, and shall be thoroughly checked before submittal. One set of prints and one electronic file of the completed wall design plans shall be submitted for distribution. The prints submitted shall be legible and have distinct details of sufficient contrast to be suitable for microfilming. Prints which do not have the desired clarity and contrast will be returned for corrective action. The wall manufacturer shall be solely responsible for the content of the design plans and shall ensure the details of the wall conform to all requirements of the contract plans and specifications. 1.4 All wall drawings and design plans submitted for distribution shall be signed, sealed, and stamped in accordance with the laws relating to architects and professional engineers. (Chapter 327, RSMo.) The design by the wall system supplier shall be verified by the contractor. Information to be verified shall include, but not be limited to, soils, ground topography, locations of utilities and other obstructions. 2.0 Appearance of Wall System. The contractor will match the existing wall texture and color to the extent possible. The walls shall be of the same type and appearance as the adjoining segments. The top of post elevation shall be no more than 1 in. higher than the elevation of the wall segment adjoining it. Placement of post and wall segments shall not proceed until approval of the MoDOT review team.
