All bids must be on file with the Utilities Board of the City of Chickasaw, 224 N. Craft Highway, Chickasaw, Alabama 36671 on or prior to the hour and date first mentioned above, and must be sealed. Specifications are on file and may be seen at the City of Chickasaw City Hall, 224 N. Craft Highway, Chickasaw, AL 36671. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing City for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a contractor having one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the contractor provide the City proof of enrolment in E-Verify (see www.uscis.gov/everify) and to execute a certificate of compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer And Citizen Protection Act (Act 2011-535), as amended by Act 2012-491. Regardless of employment in the State of Alabama, proof of enrolment in E-Verify shall be provided. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Utilities Board of the City of Chickasaw.
