The new window units shall be dark bronze Aluminum thermal broken insulated units with both fixed and operating awning type windows as shown in the drawings package. Basis of bid shall be Kawneer 501T or equal. The existing windows have failed through the years and this has also caused damage to the laminated sills and damaged the wall below. This damage will also require replacement of the drywall and framing and may possibly require potential mold remediation in the general area of the window. The new sills shall be a solid phenolic material approximately 1” thick and will extend beyond the face of the wall by 1” with fillet relief corners. Samples shall be submitted for approval prior to purchase and installation. Panic bars shall be installed on the interiors of the doors. The existing window unit, located within the entrance foyer on the west end of the building shall be fully caulked at the perimeter with caulk color to match the frame to assure there is no air penetration. The entrance door within this foyer has significant wall damage at the entrance door and this will require removal and repair of this disintegrating wall area with new moisture resistant drywall. This shall be taped and spackled and paint the entire interior of the foyer with paint color to match adjacent wall colors. There are also four (4) existing egress doors on the east end of the building out of each of the classrooms. These doors require new weather stripping to prevent any drafts from penetrating the door/frame system. |
