Description | The general scope of the work includes, but is not limited to, the materials and installation of aluminum canopy systems and interior renovations. Aluminum canopies will include concrete, aluminum canopy structures, pipe bollards, electrical, minor landscaping and other miscellaneous work. The interior renovations will include new construction for single use restrooms, conversation of storage space into office use, acoustical ceiling renovations, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, flooring, painting/wall coverings, and miscellaneous other work. Prequalification is required for this project. Only General Contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to the pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner, will be eligible to bid the Project. The pre-qualification procedure is intended to identify responsible and competent bidders relative to the requirements of the Project. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications or abandon the pre-qualification process. Pre-qualification proposal package requirements may be obtained from the office of Robins & Morton. General Contractors who were previously pre-qualified are still pre-qualified and do not have to resubmit a new submittal. Entry into the buildings will have to be planned in advance with the owner and can be coordinated at the Pre-Bid Conference. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Alabama Public Health Care Authority in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Subsequent Addenda will only be provided to those who attend the pre-bid conference unless otherwise requested. Bids must be submitted on the proposal form furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. Bid proposals mailed prior to the due date may be modified via email until close of business on the proposal due date. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. All questions referring to the actual Bid Documents shall only be submitted by email to the Architect's representative. Bidders shall contact Ellis Architects for the email address for submitting questions and/or requesting clarifications. All questions or correspondence to the Owner shall be submitted to the Owner's Program Manager.
