Western Avenue Improvements

The project limit is the entire length of Western Avenue, beginning at the Valley Road intersection and ending at the Kiel Avenue intersection. The project length is approximately 1,600 linear feet (0.30 miles). The scope of work of the Base Bid includes, but is not limited to: replacement of storm inlets and castings; installation of new storm inlets; installation of new storm drain pipes; installation of new concrete curbs; removal of beam guide rail; and, replacement of traffic control signs. The main items of construction and approximate quantities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 850 feet of 15" diameter HDPE pipe; 120 feet of ductile iron pipe; 55 feet of RCP Class V pipe; 3,100 linear feet of concrete curbs; 12 new storm inlets including heavy duty castings; and, 900 square yard of topsoil, seed, and hay. The scope of work of the Add Alternate Bid includes, but is not limited to: resetting existing manholes; resetting gas and water valves; asphalt milling and road resurfacing; and, traffic striping. The main items of construction and approximate quantities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 4,700 square yards of asphalt milling; 600 tons of hot mixed asphalt surface course, two (2") inches thick, mix 9.5 M64; and, 100 tons of hot mixed asphalt intermediate course, mix 9.5 M64. At the above time and place, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
