Description

Reorganize easternmost section of the parking lot and adjacent landscaped areas and driveways to become a forecourt that will include a vehicular drop-off and pedestrian entry plaza with accessible parking spaces, new sidewalks, and new planted areas, 1,450 SF addition on the west side to serve as the primary entry point. Construct new reception and security desk. Renovate interior area of the existing shop, café, kitchen, and toilet rooms and the original Palm House to contain a new concourse, a new and relocated kitchen, a relocated cafe that will include the Palm House space, a smaller gift shop, and larger toilet rooms. Resurface, in asphalt, main parking lot the surface of the driveways from the new forecourt north to University Avenue. Alternate Work to renovate the interior of the existing Curtis Theatre space and restore its original west-facing windows, which were bricked up circa 1950. Alternate Work to construct a new art display structure called the “Colorama”.
