City of Aurora Airport Perimeter Security Fencing

The work shall consist of installation of approximately 5,025 LF of 6 FT high galvanized chain link fence including two 12 FT wide gates in multiple phases. Phase 1 will connect to the existing fence located at the Sky Haven complex and proceed north. This work shall consist of furnishing and installing a 6’ high, 9 gauge galvanized chain link with 2” diamond mesh. Terminal posts shall be 2 1/2” SS40. Line posts shall be 2” SS40 and gate posts shall be 3” SS40 or larger if required. All posts shall be set in wet concrete footings to a depth of 42” and shall be crowned to improve drainage away from the post. The top rail shall be 1 5/8” SS40. Both gates shall provide a 12’ wide opening and shall be constructed from galvanized material also conforming to SS40 material specifications. The swing gate shown on the fence plan as Gate # 2 may be single or double panel. The hinges shall allow the gate to swing 180 degrees. The roller/sliding gate (Gate #1) shall include all hardware to provide a manually operated functioning sliding gate. The latches for both gates shall be heavy duty and have a provision for a pad lock. The fence shall be the product of a manufacturer who has demonstrated by actual installation of a similar nature that its product is of the type required. The Contractor shall include all supplementary parts necessary or required for a complete and satisfactory installation within the intent of the drawing. All runs of the fence shall present the same general appearance and the product of one manufacturer only will be accepted, except for items which do not influence the appearance of the completed fence. No used, rerolled, or open-seam steel shall be permitted in posts, gate frames, rails or braces.
