Description | Lump sum bid proposals will be received for this project at the scheduled time of receipt of bids and will be publicly opened at that time. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cash in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. The bid bond shall be payable to the Board of Trustees, Illinois Central College. The College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the College. Decisions of the College will be final. G. Minority and Women Owned Businesses are highly encouraged to participate. This Contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act Requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's at: Portal. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including, but not limited to, all wage, notice, record keeping duties, and related Equal Employment Opportunity Laws. Failure to comply with said Act will result in penalties and fines. This Utilization Plan includes a specific Business Enterprise Program (BEP) aspirational utilization goal of 30% based on the availability of certified vendors to perform the anticipated direct subcontracting opportunities of this plan. 16% to minority owned business enterprises (MBEs), 10% to women owned business enterprises (WBEs), and 4% to businesses owned by persons with disabilities |
