Sum Utility Improvement

The Contractor shall install new potable waterline valves, flow meters, pressure reducing valves, related appurtenances, and a new water service tap with accessories in the Battle Run Recreation Area at Summersville Lake. The Contractor shall also replace one manhole and install a catch basin and storm sewer culver in Battle Run Campground. The project area is located approximately one mile west of Summersville Dam and 0.3 miles north along Battle Run Road, and is shown on Attachment A, Location and Vicinity Maps. All items shall be installed, tested, and waterlines disinfected for a complete turn-key product. The Recreation Area will be closed to the public during the contract and no provision to maintain existing water or sewer service during construction is required. However, other contractors will be working in the area. All excavation is unclassified; however, based on previous excavations in the area, solid rock is expected in all areas. Note that this contract replaces or installs new valves on existing waterline and sewerline; therefore, work will be accomplished in the existing trenches. However, if any additional excavation is required to facilitate the installation (particularly the new culvert), it will most likely be in solid rock.
