Description | As of 10/6/2022 There were no bids received for this project. It is unknown if or when it will be rebid. The construction required will consist of provision of all labor, equipment and materials which are necessary to complete the described work as follows: o The construction will include replacing 243-ft of 10" VCP sanitary sewer and 455-ft of 8" VCP sanitary sewer with new 10" and 8" sanitary sewer with a piling foundation support system. The construction will also include replacing 141-ft of 10" VCP with 10" SDR-35 PVC, replacing 2 manholes, spray lining 2 manholes, 3 road and 1 bolt-down manhole casting and cover, reinstating 4 service laterals and 2 service laterals with stacks. The contractor is to initiate construction and mobilize within 30 days from the notice to proceed. Failure to meet milestones will result in liquidated damages. The total contract duration for each project is 300 calendar days. Each bid shall be in conformity with the Ohio Revised Code and all bids and certificates shall be upon the forms furnished with the specifications. All bids shall be delivered to the office of the Stark County Commissioners, at or prior to the date and hour specified for receiving bids. In the case of corporations not chartered in Ohio, the bid shall be accompanied by a proper certificate of the Secretary of State, certifying that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of 1) a certified check, or cashier's check, or letter of credit, equal to 10% of the bid; 2) a bid guaranty bond for the full amount of the bid; both forms of guaranty as provided in Chapter 153 of the Ohio Revised Code and in the project specifications. All bid guaranties shall be conditioned that if the bid is accepted within sixty (60) days of the bid opening, a proper contract shall be executed and that upon failure or refusal to enter into said contract within ten (10) days after receipt of notification of award the bidder and surety on any bond shall be liable to the County in an amount not to exceed ten (10) percent of the bid. The Stark County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept any bid or combination of bids that is deemed most favorable to the County at the time and under the conditions stipulated. Purpose and Scope of Services The purpose of this exploration was to evaluate the soil, rock and groundwater conditions at the site to provide recommendations, from a geotechnical engineering viewpoint for pipe support, site preparation and other construction considerations. The scope of the exploration and analysis included a reconnaissance of the project site, drilling five (5) test borings to depths of 19 to 26 feet below the existing surface grades, a laboratory testing program, and an engineering analysis and evaluation of the subsurface materials. The scope of services did not include an environmental assessment for the presence or absence of wetlands or hazardous or toxic materials in the soil, surface water, groundwater, or air, on or below or around this site.
