Description

The SCDOT is seeking bids for slip-form parapet wall construction on a bridge in Newberry County. The bridge will consist of 200 linear feet of bridge parapet (100 linear feet on each side of bridge). This includes four end transitions measuring 4' in length. Since the bridge has two spans, there will be one expansion joint on each side. SCDOT will prepare the walls for construction by furnishing and installing all rebar, conduit and 4" diameter deck drains. Contractor will be responsible for providing and placing the Class 4000 concrete using slip-form method. Contractor will need to provide a rubbed finish to the wall. Use of liquid curing compound is required. The quantity for the pay item Concrete Bridge Parapet is the length of cast-in-place bridge parapet or bridge railing above the top of the deck excluding all reinforcing steel and is measured by the linear foot (LF) along the continuous parapet or railing in-place from end to end, complete, and accepted.
