Description

Afton and Goshen Elevated Water Storage Tanks Inspection, Evaluation, Rehabilitation and Coatings Application Work under this Project is generally defined as the repair, rehabilitation, and coatings application of the existing | 200,000 gallon Afton and Goshen Elevated Water Storage Tanks located at 4150 Half Acre Road, Batavia, Ohio 45103 in Williamsburg Township and 6729 Goshen Road, Goshen, Ohio 45122 in Goshen Township. The Owner . expects to proceed with the construction under the Project immediately after satisfactory acceptance and award of the | construction bid and execution of the contract, with completion of all work for Pr ect No, 6401-60200 within 200 | | calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Each Bidder must submit their bid in TRIPLICATE, one (1) original and two (2) copies with each copy stamped "COPY", Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount of 100% of t e bid if in the form of a Bid Bond or in the amount of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid if in the form of a certified check, cashier's check | or letter of credit, for and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders and pursuant with Ohio | Revised Code Section 153.54, . | Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to salety regulations, conditions of employment to | be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. All bids must comply with Clermont County General Instructions to Bidders in addition to the requirements set forth in the Specifications Documents referenced : herein in order to be considered. Letters of credit and bid bonds must be filed wit original signatures. Facsimile and | electronic copies of the letter of credit, bid bond and Power of Attorney of the Surety will be deemed non-responsive. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, - Contract award shall be made to the lowest and best bidder, and award may be subject to applicable funding agency approval. The Board of County Commissioners, Clermont County, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in the bidding Procedure, to accept any bid which it deems to be for the best interest of the County and to hold such bids for a period of sixty (60) days before taking action to award a contract. These rights are reserved | up until the time the contract is signed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Engineer's Estimate for this Project is $1,538,000.00 Tank Information: Afton Tank: The structure is a 200,000 gallon toroellipse elevated water storage tank with a low-water level of 100.125 ft. located at 4150 Half-Acre Rd. in Batavia, Ohio. Goshen Tank: The structure is a 200,000 gallon toroellipse elevated water storage tank with a low-water level of 119.625 ft. located at 6729 Goshen Rd. in Goshen, Ohio. The work includes: Afton Tank: Exterior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard within containment. Apply a four (4) coat zinc epoxy urethane system. Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system, apply a polyurethane caulk to the roof lap seams. The existing cathodic protection system is to be removed, and a new system installed by the contractor. Coordination and payment is the contractor's responsibility Dry Interior: Abrasive blast clean the entire tops of the platforms (including 1 ft. up the riser wall), the entire transition cone, and spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy system to the transition cone and a spot two (2) coat epoxy system to the rest of the prepared surfaces. Pit Piping: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Foundation: Repair spalls. Abrasive blast clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Splash Pad: Replace the concrete splash pad at the overflow pipe discharge. Cathodic Protection: Install new impressed current cathodic protection system. Repairs - 1) Replace the wet interior roof hatch. 2) Install a cover over the top platform opening. 3) Install handholds at the access tube roof hatch. 4) Replace the expansion joint. 5) Overflow discharge modification. 6) Adjust the loose sway rods. 7) Install stiffeners on the wet interior ladder. 8) Install a pressure vacuum vent. 9) Install a seal at the access tube air gap. 10) Weld steel plates over the cathodic lift holes. 11) Install a roof handrail with a painter's railing. 12) Install a cover on an existing roof rigging coupling. 13) Install bowl rigging couplings. 14) Remove the level indicator. 15) Replace the dry interior light bulbs. 16) Replace the sample tap on the fill/draw pipe. 17) Replace the fall prevention device on all of the ladders. 18) Drill drainage holes in the balcony.
