Description

The Town of Fairfield (Town) on behalf of its Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide all labor and materials necessary to supply and deliver liquid melting agents, as per the following specifications. The products described in these specifications will be used for winter and summer maintenance of highways. 30% SOLUTION ENVIROBRINE A 30% solution consisting of the following percentage blend of salts shall be provided: Calcium Chloride 56% Sodium Chloride 29% Magnesium Chloride 13% Potassium Chloride 2% Phosphorus 0% Heavy Metals 0% Delivery to the storage tank shall be made within 24 hours of notification. The liquid melting agent shall not contain suspended solids or precipitants that settle out of solution to the bottom of the storage tank. This characteristic will cause handling and spreading difficulties and may result in damage to the pumps and being used to apply or load the liquid. In the event liquid is delivered that contains sediment the Contractor shall remove the material and replace it with acceptable material within 24 hours of notification. If the bidder is unable to accomplish this, the purchasing agency will contract to have the faulty material removed and replaced with acceptable melting agent at the expense of the bidder After Review of All Factors, Terms and Conditions, Including Price, the Purchasing Authority of the Town of Fairfield Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, or Any Part Thereof, or Waive Defects in Same, or Accept Any Proposal Deemed to Be in the Best Interest of the Town of Fairfield. It may be potentially renewed for an additional four (4) annual (one-year) renewal periods, based on mutual agreement of the parties. The renewal term may include a cost of living allowance (COLA) where agreed upon between the Town and Contractor.
