Description

As of October 21, 2022, an architect has been selected. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified architectural firms to produce detailed designs, construction drawings, specifications, contract documents and to obtain the necessary related regulatory approvals for the complete renovation of Lafayette High School Building 900 Annex. It is the intent of this proposal to result in the competitive negotiation of a fixed price contract for these services. The successful firm will demonstrate proven management skills and technical competence in the design of public education facilities of similar design and function. The Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools is a jointly operated school system that encompasses the county of James City and the City of Williamsburg. Funding for the renovation of Building 900 Annex was recently approved. The target date to utilize the renovated space is August 2024. Lafayette High School opened in 1973. It consists of a mixed level building containing approximately 202,500 square feet. With over 1250 students, the school wants to connect the 900 Annex Building to the main school. The intent is to create a breezeway to connect the main building to 900 Annex Building and building renovations. The newly renovated space will provide renovated classroom space, updated restrooms, meeting rooms, offices, and administrative space. The Division is interested in a collaborative design process for this project, one that will meet the future needs of students and best serve the WJCC staff, students, and community for the next 50 years. All questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Caprice White, Senior Procurement Specialist, no later than 2:00 p.m. onApril 22, 2022 in writing by email:Caprice.White@jamescitycountyva.gov.
