Description

The Project consists of the following general components: A. General 1. The existing Crum Creek Pumping Station is a wet well/dry well submersible station with a comminutor. The station has a capacity of 16 MGD and will need to stay in operation during the construction of the new pumping station. 2. The proposed Crum Creek Pumping Station includes the following: a. The station will be a self-cleaning trench submersible wet well with a capacity of 24 MGD. b. Supporting equipment includes a mechanical coarse screen, a screenings washer/compactor, a dumpster load-out conveyor, actuated slide gates, piping, valving, and a travelling bridge crane. c. The main structures include an Influent Chamber, a Control Building, Dumpster Pavilion, and the main pumping station superstructure including wet well, screening and bypass channels, valve vault and operating level. d. Supporting structures include a metering/bypass vault, and a valve vault. e. Existing utilities will be relocated to allow space for constructing the new pumping station. f. The proposed station will have to be constructed and operational before decommissioning and demolishing the existing pumping station. g. The work shall include all accessories, mechanical HVAC equipment, plumbing, instruments, electrical, controls and security provisions as indicated in the Contract Documents. h. The pumping station will be capable of pumping to both the existing 30-inch force main to the Crum Creek Interceptor, and a future force main that will connect to DELCORA’s Eastern Bypass Force Main. 3. Provide without additional compensation, any apparatus, material and labor not specifically mentioned in specifications or indicated on Drawings, that is necessary to complete or perfect any portion of work in a substantial manner and in compliance with requirements implied or intended in these Contract Documents. This includes materials, devices or methods peculiar to the apparatus or system provided.
