Description

The purpose of this contract is to provide storm drain and culvert cleaning assistance to the City of Gulf Shores. The Contractor shall provide equipment, with operators and laborers, for storm drain and culvert cleaning. The Contractor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to fully operate and maintain the equipment, including fuel, oil, grease, and repairs. The Contractor shall provide the crews for storm drain and culvert cleaning including all flagmen necessary to provide traffic control when working in the right-of-way (ROW). High velocity clean water shall be pumped through storm drain at 800 to 1,000 PSI. The hydraulic cleaning shall be accomplished with self-propelled nozzles specifically designed to clean and flush the lines. The cleaning shall be accomplished with as many passes as necessary to properly clean the pipes. The work shall consist of vacuuming, jetting, clearing, and removing any and all debris material as directed by City Representative. Work will include: vacuuming, loading and hauling the debris, sand, soil, and/or other storm deposited material to an approved dumpsite. The Contractor shall not move from one designated work area to another designated work area without prior inspection and approval from the City Representative. The Contractor shall conduct the work so as not to interfere with the disaster response and recovery activities of Federal, State, and Local governments or agencies or of any public utilities during a hurricane or tropical storm.
