Description | As of August 14 2023, this project is in conceptual design. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The University of Idaho is seeking qualifications from interested Architectural Consultant firms to assist the university in the programming, planning, and predesign of various desired facilities to be located at the university's McCall Field Campus in McCall, Idaho. The university envisions that these new facilities will support the educational, research and outreach mission of the McCall Field Campus, and will reflect the character and heritage of the McCall campus. The university desires to make innovative use of wood products and materials, to potentially include mass timber construction techniques and materials sourced from Idaho's Forest Products industry and vendors. In addition, the university is interested in the exploration that potentially these facilities meet the standards outlined by Living Building Challenge (LBC), that they act as a "teaching tool for sustainability," through economical, highly functional, energy efficient, and economically maintainable design. These new facilities are to be located at the McCall Field Campus of the University of Idaho, on the shores of Payette Lake in McCall, Idaho. The university previously completed a Master Plan for the McCall Field Campus and more recently completed a new Restroom and Shower House facility. The intent is to now plan and program the next iteration of facilities responsive to the master plan. The end product of the work envisioned under this Request for Qualifications is a robust, fully developed architectural program - a Project Planning Guide (PPG) - for one or more of these desired facilities. The envisioned PPG Document will fully describe the goals, objectives, opportunities, constraints, characteristics, and vision for these facilities. The PPG is envisioned to include, amongst other items, an architectural program, functional relationship diagrams, room data sheets, site and infrastructure relationships and improvements, materiality, programming-level construction costs estimates, and project schedule milestones. Renderings and other materials in support of fundraising efforts may be requested. The end goal is that the completed Project Planning Guide document is to be used as a basis of understanding of the project amongst the project stakeholders, as a vehicle to help support and facilitate fundraising, and as a foundation for the eventual design and construction of the desired facilities The initial authorization by the Board of Regents of the University of Idaho for this effort is limited to the programming, planning, and predesign phases of the overall design and construction process, i.e.: the development of the desired Project Planning Guide(s). Upon successful completion of the programming, planning, and predesign phases, and the completion of a successful capital strategy for funding the facilities, it is the intent of the University of Idaho to seek authorization to proceed with the design phase. The university may elect to proceed into the design phase, and eventually the construction phase, with the successful respondent to this Request for Qualifications. Or the university may, at the universitys option, elect to issue a separate, follow-on Request for Qualifications. Any questions which arise from this request, shall be addressed to: Daryle Faircloth, Project Architect & Manager Architectural & Engineering Services University of Idaho Moscow, Idaho 83844-2281 (208) 885-6246 darylef@uidaho.edu The initial contract is envisioned to be for the planning, programming, and predesign phase services. Additional design, bidding, award, and construction phase services may be required at the universitys discretion. As noted, such additional services are contingent upon additional authorization by the University of Idaho Board of Regents. Program clarification and additional data may be requested by phone or by e-mail. The university respectfully requests that interested A/E firms limit their contacts to the named individual and contact only this person in the interest of maintaining a consistency of response and fairness to all respondents. Please make no contact with other members of the university, except regarding certain items as specifically directed herein. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time As of April 6, 2022, the due date and time has been confirmed with the owner. |
