City of Helena Facility Pavement Repairs and Parking Improvements

The principal items of work are: approximately 1,164 square yards of 6 crushed aggregate and 2 asphalt overlay at 2 sites at joe tucker park approximately 530 square yards of asphalt patching at tucker road at joe tucker park approximately 106 square yards of concrete spillway removal and replacement at joe tucker park approximately 410 square yards (99 tons) of leveling on tucker road at joe tucker park approximately 14,919 square yards of liquid asphalt seal at Helena community center approximately 7,680 linear feet of parking striping at 4 sites approximately 1,970 square yards of overlay of 2 asphalt binder layer (229 tons) & 1 asphalt wearing surface (114 tons) at tucker road at joe tucker park approximately 1,872 square yards of asphalt patching at various locations on Hillsboro trail approximately 54 square yards of asphalt paving, 81 square yards of concrete sidewalk and other work to construct 5 ADA parking spaces at the Helena recreation center all bids shall be submitted on the form provided in the bid documents. The entire project shall be completed in 100 calendar days. A cashiers check (drawn on an Alabama bank) or bid bond for 5% of the amount bid (maximum of $10,000.00) and made payable to the city of Helena must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. In accordance with section 34-8-8. Code of Alabama as amended, All owners, architects, and engineers receiving bids pursuant to this chapter shall require the person, firm or corporation to include his or her current license number on the bid. it also states that it will be necessary for him or her to show evidence of license before his or her bid is considered. no bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non- resident of Alabama, is properly licensed and qualified to perform the work described herein in accordance with all applicable laws of the state of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current certificate to engage in general contracting in the state of Alabama, issued by the state of Alabama licensing board for general contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by section 34-8-2, code of Alabama (1975). Proof of insurance coverages of the types and amounts as set forth in the project specifications will be required of the contractor, and any and all subcontractors, prior to beginning work. This is a city-funded project through the city of Helena. The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans for this project and the Alabama department of transportation (ALDOT): applicable standard specifications for highway construction, 2022 edition, applicable standard and special drawings for highway construction, 2022 edition, the right to reject any or all bids is reserved.
