Description | The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners is seeking responses from qualified vendors to provide hand planting of containerized Longleaf pine on approximately 658 acres on four preserves in Alachua County. 2022-23 ACF Reforestation Services are to include all labor, materials, supplies and equipment in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications set forth within this solicitation. Vendors must be fully capable of performing the required services while adhering to all laws, specifications, procedures, protocols, applicable guidance, and industry best practices. The herein included sections along with Instruction to Bidders, Scope of Work, Submittals, together with all attached Attachments herein identified, constitute the entire bid package. Specifications and supplementary documents are essential parts of the ITB and requirements occurring in one are as binding as though occurring in all. Location: Alachua County is located in North Central Florida. The County government seat is situated in Gainesville. Gainesville is located 70 miles southwest of Jacksonville, 129 miles southeast of Tallahassee, 140 miles northeast of Tampa - St. Petersburg and 109 miles northwest of Orlando. Alachua County has a population of over 250,000 and a regional airport. The County itself consists of a total area of 969 square miles. Form of Government: Alachua County is governed by a Board of five (5) elected County Commissioners and operates under the established County Manager Charter form of government. In addition to the five County Commissioners, there are five elected Constitutional Officers: Supervisor of Elections, Sheriff, Clerk of the Court, Tax Collector, and the Property Appraiser. The Alachua County Attorney also reports to the Board. Alachua County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids in whole or in part, with or without cause, to waive technicalities, or to accept bids or portions thereof which, in the County's judgment, best serve the interests of the County, or to award a contract to the next most qualified bidder if a selected bidder does not execute a contract within thirty (30) days after the award of the ITB. The County may allow alterations, modifications, or revisions to individual elements of the successful bid at any time during the period of the contract which results from this ITB. The thirty day (30) time period may be extended an additional twenty (20) days where the selected bidder is unavailable during the initial thirty-day period. Alachua County has adopted a 15% participation goal, and policies which encourage participation of SBE in the provision of materials, supplies (i.e. office, auto, janitor, lawn, etc.) equipment, services and construction. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in part or in whole with or without cause, to waive irregularities and technicalities, and to request rebids on the material described in the ITB. The County also reserves the right to award the purchase order on such material as the County deems will best serve its interest. The County reserves the right to award the purchase order on a split-order basis, lump-sum or individual-item basis, or such combination as shall best serve the interest of the unless otherwise specified. |
