Description

Contractor shall supply all equipment, labor, and materials used for the installation of new water lines in Dam East Recreation Area. The contractor shall trench, install & backfill approximately 2150 linear feet of 3" SDR21 pipe, 150 linear feet of 1" HDPE pipe, 2 3" MJ Gate Valves, 2 valve boxes, 11 1" CTS curb stops, 11 curb boxes, and 11 Woodford S3-2 yard hydrants. The contractor shall tap into existing 1 1/2 " water line using a saddle & corp and connect all water lines to hydrants and valves as needed. A curb box shall be placed over the new CTS valves and a valve box shall be placed over the new MJ gate valves to provide access to all valves. When complete, the access holes will allow a water wrench to be used to turn the valves on and off. After all lines, valves, and hydrants have been installed, the contractor shall pressure test the complete system to ensure no leaks. All waterlines will be laid with detection wire and "caution water line" locating tape. The waterline trench will have water line locating tape located approximating 18" below finished grade. All installations and connections of the water line and hydrants shall be in accordance with State and local plumbing codes by an IL licensed plumber. Water line field locations will be field located by the Government. All materials for water line installation and associated connections shall be furnished by the contractor. Installation shall be all inclusive to include all cost for parts, pipe, hydrants, materials, trenching, backfill, marking tape, detection wire, labor, supervision, equipment, testing, and incidentals required to install water lines per linear foot. Installation of new water lines will require contractor to trench through two roadways. The contractor is responsible for backfilling and repairing roadways with asphalt material after completion of installation. The contractor is responsible for locating any and all public, private and/or Government owned utilities prior to commencing work. Any damage to any utilities caused by the Contractor's operations shall be replaced by the contractor at no expense to the Government.
