Description | Scope The Contractor shall perform the Work complete, in place and make ready for construction of a new aerator, new chemical feed lines, rehabilitating the ground storage tank (GST), and new GST influent raw water piping for the Ridaught WTP to provide a fully functional GST system as described in the Contract Documents. The work and includes all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and incidentals necessary to perform, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Mobilization/Demobilization, General Requirements, Bonds and Insurance. 2. Contractor is responsible for protecting existing materials, structures, and equipment on-site during construction activities. 3. Site Work a. Site Preparation b. Erosion Control c. Salvage: Prior to demolition of equipment or facilities, the Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner on any Owner designated equipment identified to be salvaged. Contractor shall move the identified equipment and/or materials to the warehouse located on-site. d. Demolition as shown on the drawings. e. Site restoration including sodding and other restoration. Filling of demolished old pressure sustaining valve vault area as appropriate. Contractor agrees to restore as necessary, any systems that might be impacted during construction. Restoration of the project site to pre-construction condition. 4. Structural Work a. Rehabilitate the existing GST as shown on the drawings. b. Install new guardrails around the perimeter of the GST roof. c. Install new aerator curb and plug all existing roof penetrations no longer in service. d. Install new valve assembly equipment pad. 5. Mechanical Work a. Install a new Cascade Aerator with a 3,800 gallon per minute (GPM) capacity. b. Install a new valve assembly. c. Install two new chemical feed connections, stainless steel spool piece pipe, and two new pressure gauges. d. Install new ductile iron influent mechanical piping to the GST's new aerators shown in the drawing. e. Replace bypass piping from the GST's new aerator. f. Install new hose bib and wash down station g. Cut and install new potable water 3/4 -inch yard piping to hose wash down station. 6. Electrical Work a. Install new conduit to the new task light as shown on the drawings. b. Demolish existing GST electrical conduit and lighting and terminate wiring at side of GST in a newly installed stainless steel junction box as shown on the drawings. B. Electrical, Instrumentation and Control work shall be constructed in accordance with CCUA Water Treatment Plant Standards, drawings, and specifications to provide a functional and integrated new electrical system. C. Conducting all necessary testing and start-up. D. All materials, methods of construction, and standards must be in accordance with the AUTHORITY's approved material manual, specifications, and details (latest version). E. Substantial Completion: To satisfy the definition of Substantial Completion, all on-site Work including punch list items required by the Contract have been completed to where the Contractor can vacate the site and only those elements of submittal and closeout nature remain for the attainment of Final Completion and as previously described. |
