Description

Project Description: Project consists of reconstruction of HVAC infrastructure throughout Auburn High School - primarily replacement/upgrade of dual temperature branch piping lines serving existing Unit Ventilators and Fan Coil Units - including associated and ancillary construction. 1. Project includes remediation of hazardous materials. 2. Project includes partitions and finishes. 3. Project includes electrical and controls work. A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of five percent of the bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Cashiers Check payable to the Owner. B. No bids may be modified or withdrawn for a period of forty-five calendar days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Access to the Work Areas and Visits to the Site: Bidders will be allowed to visit the site at other times but it must be scheduled in advance through the Construction Manager and is not guaranteed. Questions: 1. Will be received until November 17, 2022 at 12:00 Noon, local time. 2. Must be sent to the Architect in writing via e-mail to the SWBR CA Clerk address: swbrcaclerk@swbr.com (Note: All e-mails must contain SWBR project number "19224.20" and the phrase "Pre-Bid RFI" in the subject line to be received). Successful bidder shall begin and continuously and diligently prosecute the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall achieve Substantial Completion for the Work within the Contract Time(s) provided in the documents. Clarifications: Bid addenda will be published as needed to provide clarification/response to questions. A. The Owner hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all Bids or to accept the one that in its judgment will be for the best interest of the Auburn Enlarged City School District. The awarding of the Contract(s) will be subject to the approval of the New York State Education Department. B. Attention of the bidders is called to the requirements as to the conditions of employment and minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract, as well as to other provisions set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. C. The contract(s) may require the performance of design services for certain ancillary elements of the project to be by a New York State licensed and registered architect or professional engineer, landscape architect, or land surveyor. D. Contract award shall be subject to the condition that the applicable plans and specifications for the work to be done shall be approved by the Commissioner of Education.
