Description Autopsy ‘B’ Room 218 is located on the second floor of the facility. 5/8” Type X gypsum wall board material is the main wall material in the autopsy room. The original epoxy based paint finish has cracked and chipped at a number of locations adjacent to and behind the main autopsy tables which are located on the north and south walls of the room, Water has infiltrated beyond the paper finish layer and the gypsum core is compromised. The material finish has also cracked and chipped at other wet locations on the east and west walls of the autopsy rooms. Continual water infiltration from routine tasks at the autopsy stations and at other wet locations has compromised the integrity of the gypsum board necessitating its removal and replacement with a more durable wet-location material assembly. Contractor shall demount all equipment required for removal of a defined area of the existing 5/8” Type X gypsum board on the north and south walls of Autopsy ‘B’. Contractor shall install 1/2” cement backer board using synthetic shim material to replace the gypsum board flush and level with the surrounding finishes, and shall then install a defined area of ¼” solid surface material, to match the color and texture of Autopsy Room A finish; forming a waterproof backsplash as shown on the drawings. Contractor shall remount all equipment. Panels joints should be seamless, sanded smooth, and chemically welded using MFG sealant to form a continuous panel. Contractor to ensure additional bracings/backings are in place for anchoring heavy equipment to the wall wherever required.
