FEMA Projects

A certificate and/or license number held by a contractor issued by the board under the provisions of this chapter after payment of the special privilege license tax therefor levied under this chapter. A Certificate of Responsibility is not required on public projects less than $50,000 and on private projects less than $100,000. Other exclusions include highway construction involving federal funds, new commercial construction not exceeding 7,500 square feet and two stories in height and construction of microwave towers built for telecommunication and transmission purposes. It is unlawful for a contractor to submit a bid who does not have a valid Certificate of Responsibility; also it is unlawful for the governing body to open a bid which does not have a Certificate of Responsibility number issued by the State of Mississippi.
