University Avenue Safety Improvements: Design-Build Activities Limited to ADA Ramps

The proposed scope of work includes improvements to the existing intersection of University Avenue (State Route SR3003 Section SIP) and I-76 Off Ramp in the City of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County. The intersection is listed on the National Highway System and is classified as an Urban Principal Arterial. The existing signalized intersection will be realigned to address safety related issues. The existing right turn lane (yield condition) will be moved closer to the intersection and be controlled with the signal. Dual right turn lanes are proposed along with upgrades to the existing traffic signal equipment. The roadway approaches along University Avenue and I-76 Off Ramp will be repaved. ADA curb ramps, sidewalks, guide rail, and drainage facilities will be reconstructed.
