Description | The scope of this project includes, bit is not limited to, the following: demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility. As of December 2, 2022, a construction manager has been selected for this project. A firm construction timeline for this project has not yet been released. The owner has selected a Construction Manager. The Board of Education of Wicomico County will be selecting a Construction Management firm for the Renovation & Addition Project at Mardela Middle / High School located in Mardela Springs, Maryland. The contract delivery method for the project will be Construction Management at Risk (CMr) with Design-Assist (DA). The selected CMr firm will be required to provide a range of CM services including solicitation and development of the trade contracts, establishment of the GMP, construction of facility, and move-in and occupancy turnover. Phase 1 of the RFP process will be acceptance of Statements of Qualification (SOQ) from professional Construction Management firms interested in providing this service. Only firms with a minimum of five (5) years Construction Management at Risk experience will be considered. A Proposal Bond in the amount of One Half Percent (.5%) of the Estimated Construction Cost may be required by the CMr firm that is selected in Phase 2 of the RFP process. A proposal bond, irrevocable letter of credit, or cashier's check payable to the Owner will be acceptable. This requirement will be established at the time Phase 2 notices are released. o A Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Base Bid may be required by CMr firms that are selected to participate in Phase 2 of the RFP process. The form of the Bid Bond shall be AIA Document A310 Bid Bond - 1970 edition or equivalent. This requirement will be established at the time Phase 2 notices are released. o A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the full amount of the contract award shall be provided by the successful bidder prior to the execution of the contract. |
