Description | The Windermere Elementary School Project is a multi-phased, multi-shift project that includes a new 2-story 40,000SF academic wing, 54,000SF of renovate-as-new to areas of the school and 54,000SF of building demolition. Groundbreaking for the new academic wing is to occur early November 2023 and is scheduled for occupancy in January of 2025. Renovations to (2) single-story academic wings will start concurrently in January 2025 and are scheduled for occupancy in September 2025. The school will remain open during 2023-2024 & 2024-2025 academic years and provisions will be made to accommodate the students and staff around and/or through the work areas. Multiple shifts are expected to meet the renovation schedules. Shift work will be permitted for interior work only. The existing areas to be renovated were built in 1966 and 1993; existing areas to be demolished were built in 1966 and 2001. Hazardous Materials are known to be present in the original 1966 building and 1993 Addition. Completion of all renovations and building demolition is scheduled for December 2025 with limited site improvements scheduled for Spring 2026.
