Description | The contractor shall provide all equipment, materials and labor needed to install a 90’ x 48’ concrete floor in an existing pole structure. The new concrete slab floor shall be provided and installed using the best management practices and standards for this type of work. The following are the primary items of the project scope: 1. Prepare base course of minimum compacted thickness of 6-inch layer using new crushed stone material. Remove existing floor material (aggregate and sand layers) as needed to provide necessary base course and new floor. Stockpile the removed material nearby at the site as directed by the site superintendent. 2. Provide and place a 90’ x 48’ x 5” poured-in-place concrete floor slab, reinforced with 6x6–W2.9xW2.9 (also designated as 6x6–6x6) welded wire fabric (with #6 gauge wire). -There is an area where there is an existing concrete pad in place at N-W corner of the building, approximate size 38’ x 15’-9”. This existing pad shall be in level with the new concrete building floor. Concrete shall be “tied” to the pre-existing concrete floor using standard construction methods. -Provide a thickened edge on the interior floor slab at each of the three overhead door openings, for use for a doweled and sealed construction joint with each respective new concrete apron. -Concrete slab shall be continuously sloping from east-west direction building center line to the north-east and south-east overhead door direction in general. 3. Provide an exterior reinforced concrete apron at each of the three overhead door openings, of minimum dimension of 3’ x 24’ each, the final elevation matching the interior slab elevation, and with a thickened edge at the overhead door opening. (Note: There may be door hardware piece(s) at the overhead doors that will need to be accommodated in the pour.) -The concrete slab should be minimum thickness of 8-inches and downturned 12-inches around the perimeter. Provide 2 - #4 continuous rebar around the perimeter of the apron. Each rebar piece shall be encased within a minimum of 2-inches of concrete. -Provide a doweled construction joint between the apron and the interior slab. 4. Concrete flatwork shall be finished, cured and sealed with water-based sealer. |
