Description

As of January 5, 2023, the project has not been awarded. A timeline for award has not been confirmed. The construction work will consist of the following approximate major quantities: Rehabilitate asphalt surface and install 1/2-inch SBR Synthetic Surface on track facilities at Central Davidson Senior High School; miscellaneous storm drainage improvements; pedestrian access improvements; asphalt paving of an existing gravel driveway. Any questions should be directed to the Engineer, in writing (e-mail or fax), by 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the total Bid. Security may be in the form of cash, a cashier's or certified check, or Bid Bond made payable to the Owner. Checks shall be drawn on a bank or Trust company insured under the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Bonds must be executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina, as provided for by North Carolina Statutes. Attorneys-in-Fact who sign Bid Bonds or Contract Bonds must file with each Bond a certified and effectively dated copy of their Power of Attorney. B. The securities shall be retained in the event of the failure of successful Bidder to execute the Contract within the specified time after award or to give satisfactory surety, as specified herein. C. All Bid securities will be retained by the Owner as property of the several Bidders until the award of Contract is made or all Bids rejected, after which the securities will be returned to the unsuccessful Bidders. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder for each Contract as soon as practicable, provided that in the selection of equipment or materials, a Contract may be awarded to a responsible Bidder other than the lowest in the interest of standardization or if ultimate economy is clearly evident. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids if, in their opinion, it is to the best of the Owner.
