Description

Masonry repair to the outside wall at Center Road Elementary School, 20 Center Road, Vernon, CT. Cut out all mortar joints on limestone, brick and stone from point A to point B, approximately 264 linear feet, three stories high as shown on “Addendum A” on page 14 of this document. All mortar joints will be cut with diamond blades attached to grinders to a minimum of 3/4 of an inch. The grinders will be connected to vacuums to limit the dust. Care will be taken to not cut into the brick or stone. The brick joints will be pointed with a type N mortar to match the color as close as possible. The joints will be packed with the new mortar in lifts to leave no voids and to allow for shrinkage of the mortar. The tooling of the joint will match the existing.
