New Pond for Black Bear Exhibit

**As of July 17, 2020, all bids received are over the budget and was rejected.** The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) proposes to reconstruct the existing pond located within the existing Black Bear Exhibit located at the Salato Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. The work will include the necessary earthwork to shape the new pond, complete construction of a new gunnite concrete pond and a new pump system. The removal and replacement of the existing rock boulders will be performed by the KDFWR staff in addition to the removal and disposition of the existing concrete pond. renovate the existing Bear Enclosure located at the Salato Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. Estimated Length of Project: 60 (Substantial Completion) + 30 (Final Completion) All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, Commonwealth of Kentucky, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served.
